August Sandgren – Leather Jewellery Box

Using time-honoured genuine craftsmanship, August Sandgren creates handmade boxes of the finest natural materials – for well-designed storage and display.

The original Book Box was designed a century ago by the pre-eminent designer and Danish craftsman, August Sandgren. More recently, the Danish brand has collaborated with designer, Margrethe Odgaard to develop a contemporary, mineral rock-inspired colour composition for the range.  

Handmade in Portugal using the finest natural aniline leather, August Sandgren's 21st Century take on a jewellery box is crafted in two colour variations: black, aniline leather on the exterior with a beautiful dark blue on the internal base or dusty grey tone with a soft turquoise internal base.

The leather’s natural grain structure is preserved, and so over time, use and exposure to daylight will develop a beautiful and unique patina. This product is designed to last more than a lifetime - a piece, or collection, to be handed down to the next generation.
