Bettina Schori is a Danish glass designer with a passion for upcycling. Educated in Denmark and the United States, Schori is widely recognised across the European art and design industries. Schori’s work has exhibited across the European circuit of art and design fairs, most notably in recent years as part of the Danish Crafts Collection at Maison & Objet, Paris, Le Carrousel des Metiers d'Art et de Creation at Musée du Louvre, Paris and in Copenhagen’s DesignEXchange at the Danish Design Museum (Designmuseum Danmark).
Driven by a desire to use as few resources and make as little impact as possible, Schori challenges materials and their original expression at her studio in Copenhagen.
In recent years, Schori has mainly explored the potential for reusing glass bottles. Bottles were a natural choice of material given their availability and the possibility of endless sizes, shapes and colours. At Schori’s studio, used glass is altered and transformed – sawn, heated, sandblasted and re-blown.
Bettina’s product range includes the handmade Drop Vases – each created uniquely by Schori and grouped into complementary sets of three.
